(A) If a Goodyear police officer is unable to ascertain the true identity of any person deemed in violation of this article, the police officer shall be empowered to impound any shared mobility device used in the commission of the violation. The shared mobility device shall be returned upon furnishing of satisfactory identification and payment of an impoundment fee per device as adopted by City Council Resolution.

(B) Unlawfully parked, inoperable or abandoned shared mobility devices may be impounded or relocated by city employees as necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public or as otherwise authorized by law and shall be subject to such impoundment fees that may be adopted by the Goodyear City Council.

(C) Shared mobility devices that are impounded pursuant to this article that are unclaimed after 30 days shall be deemed abandoned property and may be disposed of by the city without further notice to the owner of the shared mobility device. (Ord. 19-1459, passed 12-16-19)
