(A) It is unlawful for any person to fix in place an awning, balcony, bridge, curb, sidewalk, faucet, fence, hydrant, pipe or sign on, over, under or across any public street or alley right-of-way, park or public place without having first obtained permission to do so from the proper city official; provided however, that mailboxes may be placed in the street right-of-way, except that no portion thereof shall extend into or over any sidewalk, curb or improved street surface.

(B) All mailboxes shall be mounted on wrought iron poles or two-inch pipe. The pole will be 36 inches above grade.

(C) The following sizes of mailboxes as authorized by the Postal Department are authorized to be installed in the City. All mailboxes shall be black or a light pastel shade to blend in with the area.

(1) 19 inch length - 6.5 inch width - 8.5 inch height.

(2) 21 inch length - 8.8 inch width - 10.5 inch height.

(3) 23.5 inch length - 11.5 inch width - 13.5 inch height.

(D) Prior to the installation of any mailbox on a dedicated roadway, each resident shall sign an agreement holding the City completely harmless in all respects for any and all losses of any kind or description that may result from the mailboxes being placed on the City right-of-way.
