Notwithstanding Sections 3-12-1, 3-12-11, and 3-12-14, following the enactment of the ordinance codified in this article, any Employee Group previously certified and in good standing under Goodyear Ordinance 2005-937 at the time of the enactment of the ordinance codified in this article shall be considered as a Certified Public Safety Sworn Employee Organization under this article for the limited purpose of engaging in a Meet and Discuss process as detailed in Section 3-12-11 for Goodyear Fiscal Year 2011-12. Completion of the Meet and Discuss process during Goodyear Fiscal Year 2011-12 shall satisfy the requirement to engage in Meet and Discuss for 12 months as otherwise detailed in Sections 3-12-1 and 3-12-11 prior to requesting to participate in the Meet and Confer Process in Section 3-12-14.

Any Public Safety Sworn Employee Organization recognized for the limited purpose of this Section 3-12-22 shall no longer be recognized under this Section 3-12-22 after June 30, 2012, and shall be required to obtain certification under Sections 3-12-7 and 3-12-8 to continue as a recognized Public Safety Sworn Employee Organization thereafter.

Unless specifically referenced and modified for the limited period of time detailed in this Section 3-12-22, all other sections and provisions of this article shall remain unchanged. (Ord. 11-1249, passed 10-24-2011)
