This chapter shall be known as the Alarm Ordinance and may be cited as such. The intent and purpose of this chapter is to provide minimum standards of operation and regulations applicable to Alarm Systems, Alarm Businesses, and Alarm Users; to encourage the improvement and reliability of systems, devices and services; and to ensure that public safety personnel are not unduly endangered or diverted from responding to actual emergency activity as a result of responding to false alarms and receiving information regarding the basis for the alarm activation. This chapter is intended to apply prospectively only and all outstanding fees and fines due prior to enactment shall continue to be due. (Ord. 12-1252, passed 2-13-2012)
