(A) All refuse shall be prepared for collection or disposed according to the nature and type of refuse as provided in this article, using the appropriate designated City container.

(B) Sharp Objects. Materials with a cutting edge or point, such as glass or cacti, must be securely contained so as to prevent the exposure of any sharp points or edges.

(C) Domestic Animal Refuse. All domestic animal refuse must be securely bagged and placed in the customer’s City issued refuse container. Animal excreta from farm animals (e.g., chickens, horses, pigs, and cows) shall not be placed on the curbside or in a City container and will not be collected by the City.

(D) Appliances. The City will only collect discarded appliances that can be readily lifted into a truck by no more than two people. For reasons of safety, all doors to appliances shall be removed, or latches or closing devices removed, in such a manner to allow an individual or animal to escape from the interior of the appliance.

(E) Vehicles. The City will not collect boats, motorcycles, motorized vehicles, large parts or other similar items.

(F) Right of Refusal. The City reserves the right to refuse to pick up any item determined to be in violation of this chapter and its decision shall be final. (Ord. 08-1151, passed 12-15-2008; Am.
